The Postmistress by Sarah Blake

A beautiful sweeping novel that crosses oceans and pulls on heartstrings. And it's not all fluff. Throw in a world war, crossing enemy lines, lovers torn apart, feminism, and compelling heroines, and you start to see a compelling tale form.
I felt the urge to cry on many occasional reading this, but it didn't feel right somehow when considering the heroines bravery. War is a terrible thing, and this book sits nicely in that war-torn romance category.
But it has slightly more serious undertones. I think, as a journalist, I had an affinity with what Frankie was trying to achieve.
You'll be swept away by this one if you're not careful...
